I went to Antarctica prepared. The best cameras. The longest lenses. The intention to bring home something extraordinary. On the way home, crossing the Drake Passage, dolphins began racing alongside our ship. It was some of the best footage I had captured on the entire trip. And then I erased it....Gone.... What happened next surprised me. This film is a reflection on presence, memory, awe, and what wild places like Antarctica teach us about time and responsibility. It’s about losing the “perfect shot” — and realizing the experience was never in the footage. Antarctica is vast, ancient, and humbling. Standing among glaciers layered in time changes the way you see urgency, success, and even what it means to witness something fully. Not everything meaningful needs to be recorded. Some things are meant to be lived.
