There is a nightingale flying in this piece, but where...? A while back (before YT) I recorded a set of variations as demonstration how Italian baroque would sound on this sample set. It's actually quite the tricky piece to play regarding fingering, tempi etc. 'Monica' was a tune popular in Italy, Germany, France, the Low Countries and England from the 16th century to the 18th. The title stems from the text that was associated with the melody in Italy 'Madre non mi far monaca'. It tells the story of a young girl forced to become a nun, a recurring theme in much Italian folk literature from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance. This tune has also been used for the well-known hymn 'Von Gott will ich nicht lassen', 'Une jeune fillette' etc. The room in which this organ stands is pretty dry, but for this kind of music it doesn't need the extra reverb. 00:00 Prima Parte 01:03 Secunda Parte 02:01 Terza Parte 02:59 Quarta Parte 03:52 Quinta Parte 04:44 Sesta Parte 05:35 Settima Parte 06:17 Ottava Parte Sample set by Pipeloops: http://www.pipeloops.com//product_inf...
