Failed asylum seekers in the UK will be sent to “return hubs” in third countries while they await deportation under plans being pursued by the Government, Sir Keir Starmer has said. The Prime Minister said British officials were engaging in talks with other countries about setting up such a scheme. Sir Keir was speaking during a visit to Albania aimed at forging closer cooperation on tackling illegal immigration. He told GB News: “What now we want to do and are having discussions of, talks of, is return hubs which is where someone has been through the system in the UK, they need to be returned and we have to make sure they’re returned effectively and we’ll do that, if we can, through return hubs.
