NOTE: There are two camera angles that were used to record this concert, and it appears they both contain content that the other one doesn't, so we are uploading both recordings. This concert is likely from Karl's 2009 or 2011 appearances at Fergus Falls. Karl Eilers (1950-2021), a long-time resident of Minneapolis, MN, was a recognized and respected concert organist, builder and engineer. Renowned for his theatre organ performances, Karl worked to bring pipe organ music of all kinds to the lives of those around him. He played in many venues, from a pizza restaurant named Cicero’s, to concert halls, to churches. He was a member of the American Theatre Organ Society (Land O'Lakes Chapter), and half a dozen or so of those folks might speak of him fondly if pressed. He especially loved to provide music for silent films at the Heights Theater. Karl also found joy in sacred music, sharing his talents and deep knowledge of liturgical music as an organist for several churches. The 3/12 Wurlitzer Theatre Pipe Organ at A Center for the Arts in Fergus Falls, MN, was installed by Johnson Organ Co., Inc. of Moorhead, MN in 1994. The Red River Theatre Organ Society, a local chapter of the American Theatre Organ Society has adopted this organ as a "chapter instrument," and is in charge of its maintenance, improvements, and presenting it to the public through performances and various events.
