We have discussed about What is HAZOP, Purpose of HAZOP, Importance Of HAZOP For Industries, The Process of HAZOP study, The Four Phases Of HAZOP, Benefits of HAZOP Study. HAZOP is “Commonly known as Hazard And Operability Studies” A HAZOP is a systematic assessment tool used to identify and address potential hazards in industrial processes before an incident occurs that could affect the Safety of people or assets while hindering Productivity. HAZOP studies are typically performed while new facilities are being designed and constructed, when new processes are added or when processes change. Most regulatory agencies also require periodic HAZOP studies on existing processes. The HAZOP assessment is typically performed by a small team that breaks each step of a process down for individual review to identify potential deviations from the original process design. Like all PHAs, HAZOPs go beyond the review of how a process is supposed to operate in order to identify unintended outcomes and explore their potential ripple effects on health and safety. A hazard and operability study (HAZOP) is a structured and systematic examination of a complex plan or operation in order to identify and evaluate problems that may represent risks to personnel or equipment. The intention of performing a HAZOP is to review the design to pick up design and engineering issues that may otherwise not have been found. The technique is based on breaking the overall complex design of the process into a number of simpler sections called “nodes” which are then individually reviewed. It is carried out by a suitably experienced multi-disciplinary team (HAZOP) during a series of meetings. HAZOP, also known as HAZOP study or HAZOP analysis, is a Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) method recognized in OSHA’s Process Safety Management (PSM) standard. It is a form of risk management to identify, evaluate, and control hazards and risks in complex processes. It involves highly hazardous chemicals that can cause significant injuries to workers and extensive damage to property and company reputation if not properly processed and handled. #TNVAKADEMI#HAZOP#ISOSTANDARD #ISOCERTIFICATION#ISOLEADAUDITOR#ISOKNOWLEDGE#ISOCOURSE#ISOFREECOURSE.
