This is the story of two farmers (Joseph and Frank Bily) who made a treadle scrollsaw from their mother's sewing machine, and created 40 remarkable clocks by hand from 1913 to 1958 as a way to get through Iowa winters. These clocks are shown at the Bily Brother Museum in Spillville, Iowa. This is a tribute to those woodworkers who maintain their hobby for the joy of making things of beauty. It is said that they refused money from a millionaire because they promised their parents that carving was just to be used just as a hobby The video is one of the tributes to my woodworking heroes by Hoosierwoodcraft.
