We're in Kyrgyzstan and we're heading deeper into the mountains, past one of the largest lakes in Asia, to Karakol. To get there we're taking local transportation all the way... Which, given the language barrier and our lack of familiarity with Kyrgyzstan, should be an adventure! Karakol is a mountain town on the eastern end of Issyk-Kul (Warm Lake). It's about 150 KM from the Chinese border, so we're excited to explore the dining options, specifically the Dungan cuisine. Dungans are Hui people - Muslim minorities from China.
