This was hands down the best thing I ever did for myself as a music student. I have notebooks of hundreds of pages of transcriptions. When I decided to learn Japanese I thought I teach myself the same way by transcribing Japanese anime. Listen to the words and write down all the words and look up all the words I didn’t know.
