A Brief Visit To the Raritan Central Railway, Railfanning, Edison, NJ Mar 27, 2021

After getting a tip from a few friends that the Raritan Central would be running a rare Saturday mid-day freight to interchange with Conrail in Metuchen, I found myself in Edison hoping to catch the freight myself. While I was unable to get there in time for the run to Metuchen, I did manage to see the return trip to the Raritan Center. On top of that, I was also able to get some footage of them putting away the train in the Raritan Center yard back in Edison. What really made this move cool was the fact that the locomotives led back to Edison, as they usually shove the train the some two and a half miles from Conrail's Metuchen Yard, to their yard in the Raritan Center. An added bonus for me was finally getting to shoot RCRY #5, a GP30M, on a revenue freight.
