The Camino Francés section from Puente la Reina to Estella spans about 20 kilometers, offering pilgrims a stunning blend of natural beauty and historical charm. The journey begins in Puente la Reina, a picturesque town known for its iconic medieval bridge over the River Arga. As you cross the bridge, the path winds through peaceful countryside, passing vineyards and olive groves typical of the Navarra region. The first stop is the small village of Mañeru, nestled among rolling hills. From here, the route gently ascends toward the hilltop village of Cirauqui, an ancient settlement with narrow cobbled streets and a Roman bridge that has welcomed pilgrims for centuries. Cirauqui offers panoramic views of the surrounding countryside, making it a perfect spot for a rest and some exploration. Continuing on, the route meanders through farmland and wooded areas, leading to Estella, a larger town with a rich medieval heritage. Known as the "Toledo of Navarra," Estella boasts impressive Romanesque architecture, including the Church of San Pedro de la Rúa and the beautiful Plaza de los Fueros. The town is a vibrant stop for pilgrims, offering a variety of services, accommodations, and plenty of opportunities to discover its history. This section of the Camino combines quiet rural landscapes, ancient villages, and historic landmarks, making it a memorable and rewarding part of the pilgrimage. 🔔Dare to discover hiking paths less traveled?
