MAGNIFICAT • CHARLES THEODORE PACHELBEL

The 1971 Sanford H. Calhoun High School Choir (S. Talbot Thayer, Director) from Merrick, NY performs the wonderful double choir work MAGNIFICAT by Charles Theodore Pachelbel. This is one of my very favorite Calhoun Choir performances. It is my great honor to present these recordings/videos in order to preserve the legacy of S. Talbot Thayer (1930-2016) for future generations. As my high school choral director Mr. Thayer had a profound impact on my life and I will forever be grateful for his inspiration, the talks, his advice, the stories, the listening sessions, the dinners, the MUSIC, but most importantly, the love. I will miss him dearly, but I also know that he will always be with me. The videos on this Calhoun Choir YouTube site are from 1959-1985 when S. Talbot Thayer was director of the Sanford H.
