A series of 'Wandering in the area around Kelmis, Belgium'. Here you have wet areas, calcareous soil areas, high dry forest areas and areas contaminated with heavy metals and its specialistic metallophytev flora. Each area is worth a video on its own. I will have 4 walks through these areas in different times of the year to catch most of the flora and to cover it all. In part 1 it is early springtime and i show you the flora that is just flowering now. from CasinoWeiher along the river Geul The River Geul and its surroundings is contaminated by zinc and lead caused by mining these metals in the long gone past Due to this here you can find specialistic plants addapted to this enviroment.
