After being destroyed in wars, it was controversially rebuilt by Empress Dowager Cixi, who largely financed the work with funds intended for the navy, giving the place its unique, feminine majesty. As we stroll together, you'll discover the harmonious blend of Longevity Hill (Wànshòu Shān) and Kunming Lake. We'll walk along the famous Long Corridor, the world's longest covered walkway, adorned with over 14,000 paintings that tell legends and stories.
