Here are some of the reasons I love these boots: 1. The slimmest hoof boots we've seen yet. I don't know how they could be any slimmer. This means no interfering with the horse's natural movement. No clipping, the horse doesn't have to adjust their movement to suit the boot, etc. 2. Easy to Use, Clean, Store - Easier than the Easyboots and Cavallos to use – no mallet needed to “hammer on”, Rinses clean VERY quickly. Dries quickly. Small footprint for easy storage. I can also fit 2 Scoots into each of the side pockets of my Stowaway Cantle Bag (vs 1 of the Easyboots/Cavallos). 3. Slides through all sorts of terrain with ease. Mud does not stick to it, Water drains all out, deep sand, clay, heavy brush, uphill/downhill. 4. Handles all gaits perfectly - allows for full, free natural movement while staying on perfectly. 5. Does not rub when the fit is correct - with or without gaiters. This does depend on speed and distance as well. Faster speeds with longer distances does increase the chance of rubbing. These rub the least of all the boots I've tried yet, but I'm still playing around with them to figure out the perfect fit. The ones that fit perfectly, so far, do not rub. 6. When these break-in, they get better. They mold themselves better to the hoof and there are less rubs. When the Easyboots/Cavallos break-in – they get worse, cracking, getting too big in size, breaking down. These are handling wear a LOT better than leather/canvas/Velcro. Nothing much to break down here. 7. The entire boot is soft and flexible – including the sole. This basically makes it “Fit Like a Glove”, while allowing great “feel” to the hoof. 8. Open toe design does not put pressure on the toe – excellent if your horse has a health condition that makes his toe sensitive. 9. Has little “grippies” inside the boot to allow the hoof to grip onto the boot – this is the first boot I’ve seen this design in. It also has an excellent tread pattern with frog support. 10. I have heard some people have problems with the screws backing themselves out after a while. I have not experienced that yet. If you experience this, or want to prevent it – use Loctite on the screws. 11. Because they are soft, flexible, have high sides and just kinda mold to the hoof - they fit a wider range of hoof sizes. These are designed to last throughout the trimming cycle.
