Filmed in January 2025, the journey follows historic roads, quiet villages, desert plains, and deep wadis carved into the rugged Hajar Mountains, offering a rare look at life beyond the major cities. The drive begins near Al Khattem Dam, a tranquil spot surrounded by open desert and distant hills. As the road heads toward Hatta – Dubai, the scenery quickly transforms into rocky terrain and mountain foothills. Dubai–Hatta Road is one of the UAE’s most iconic mountain highways, cutting through the eastern Hajar range with sweeping curves, exposed rock faces, and wide valleys shaped by seasonal rainfall. At Suhaila Dam (06:48), the landscape becomes greener in winter, with water collected from surrounding mountains forming a peaceful contrast to the arid environment. Shortly after, the route reaches Al Wajajah (08:15) on the Oman side, an important border town connecting the UAE with the interior of Oman. This area has long served as a gateway for trade and travel between the two countries. Passing through Saih al Dimani (16:44) and At Tuwayyah (24:34), the drive enters quieter rural regions where small settlements are scattered across desert plains and mountain edges. These towns reflect traditional Omani life, with wide open spaces, farms, and low-rise buildings adapted to the harsh climate. The road continues along Al Saf–Al Shuwaiha Road (26:20), a lesser-known route offering uninterrupted views of the surrounding mountains. Villages such as Maliah (28:00) sit close to the wadis, relying on seasonal water flow for agriculture and daily life. The journey then follows a series of dramatic valleys, including Wadi Masber (29:55) and Wadi Khamis (33:30). These wadis cut deep into the Hajar Mountains, with towering rock walls and winding dry riverbeds that occasionally flood during heavy rains. The sense of scale here highlights the raw geological beauty of northern Oman. Through As Subakh (37:36) and RAI – Ar Rayy (47:30), the road passes small communities surrounded by open desert and distant mountain ridges. Life here moves slowly, shaped by geography and long-standing traditions. Further ahead, Ash Shuwayhah (57:20) appears as another quiet settlement framed by rocky hills and wide plains. At Abu Badi – Mahda Road (01:04:40), the drive becomes increasingly mountainous, leading into Wadi Sharm (01:19:25), one of the most scenic sections of the route. The wadi is enclosed by steep cliffs and narrow passages, offering a true mountain driving experience. The road eventually reaches Mahdah (01:26:28), a historic Omani town near the UAE border. Mahdah has long been an important inland settlement, surrounded by mountains and known for its strategic location. From here, the journey continues along Sultan Thuwaini bin Said Road (01:30:40), a major route connecting the interior regions to the border.
