The “Bifrost” bridge is not a ‘rainbow’, nor a “rainbow bridge”; It is not even the “Bifrost” bridge. The compound word in Old Norse is “Bilröst”: Bil+röst (pronounced: B-eel + rust; (the ‘ö’ is said like the “i” in ‘bird’)). The word “Bifrost” is a transliteration, coupled with a mistranslation. “Bridge” is “Brú” in Icelandic (Bro in Swedish). The “Bilröst brú” is the “Milky Way”, the “Swan Road”, which the Swan’s (Cygnus’) wings span. So, the “Bilröst brú is the bridge over the deep ‘Sea’ (the heavens) and is associated with the Mother Goddess Frigga and our Swan Maidens – Swan law / Ás law: primal law / ørlög; the primal law of Mother Goddess Frigga, the ALL Knowing, ALL Consciousness. — “Bil” in Old Norse / Icelandic means “movement”, it is that open space just departed from; a moment, that very moment. In the rhyme “Jack and Jill”, “Bil” is Jill, the maiden who gives ‘movement’ to Jack. Jack in the poem is “hjuka”, which is a verb meaning: to nurse a sick person; reflective, to recover strength. Oðin getting the mead back from the dark evil forces of Suttung was a ‘recovery of strength’. The mead (honey-wine) has always been the drink of our Gods, and Oðin delivered it to mankind: the skaldic mead of poetry, and wisdom (Kvasir’s Blod). The mead is honey of our Valiant Bear ancestor and our Maidens are our movement (Bil). “Jack and Jill” is a rhyme about Oðin being motivated by the maiden to recover strength. — “röst” in Icelandic means “a strong current in the sea, race”. The etymology of race is: “A swift course”; “used in several senses, which may, however, all be derived from the figure of violent action or rapid movement” (“rapid MOVEMENT (“Bil”). “Race, in the sense of breed, lineage, line of descent; root, as signifying the root or stock of the family. ... line, row, tether, strap, ... also progeny, race. ... not only race, but a ray or line of light.” The Bilröst brú is a bridge from Mother Goddess Frigga (Swan) that is traveled by the strong, the Valiant, as motivated (Bil) by Frigga and our Swan Maidens, the Valiant choosers (Val-kjósa); it is depicted in the ‘Sea’ as the “Milky Way” and is directly tied to the Spirit of our ancestral Bear. © Scott Carlson “Mighty Thor Is Coming To Town” (by Scott Carlson) I just came back from a lovely trip, along the Milky Way Traveled our old Swan Road, as in our ancient days Northward upon our Bilröst brú, to speak with Goddess Frigg A message she has for you, so this is what I bring: You better watch out, You better not cry You better not pout I'm telling you why Mighty Thor is coming to town He has Frigga’s list, She had checked it twice And comes to Folk: Just, Valiant and Wise. Mighty Thor is coming to town She sees you when you're Valiant, She knows when you've been weak She knows if you've been wise and strong, So be strong for Folkish sake Oh! You better watch out! You better not cry. Better not pout, I'm telling you why. Mighty Thor is coming to town He’s riding that sleigh, just like Oþinn’s Sleipnir Oþinn to those who have shed false fear Mighty Thor is coming to town.
