Abandoned Buildings in Belgrade (part 3)

Third part of our series of videos showing abandoned buildings and desolated places in Belgrade, Serbia. Filming locations (in order of appearance): Sawmill Simović in Zabrežje, Obrenovac. This industrial complex was built in 1903 and was, at that time, the biggest and most modern sawmill in Kingdom of Serbia. The first owner, Aleksandar Simović was shot after German occupation in 1945 by communist partisans although he actively supported the resistance movement. The factory was confiscated and name changed to "Bora Marković". After the fall of communism and breakup of socialist Yugoslavia, the factory slowly went out of business and went bankrupt in 2011. A large fire broke in 2016 and destroyed most of the buildings. Prva iskra armatura, Barič. Holding company Prva iskra was founed in 1938 in Barič, a suburb of Serbian capital. The company consisted of 16 factories, Prva iskra armatura being one of them. During NATO bombing in 1999, large parts of factory were damaged and many buildings destroyed. Beobanka building, Zeleni venac. This building dates back to 1960, when it was built for the needs of construction and architecture company Energoprojekt. Later, it went into possession of Beobanka, one of the largest banks in Yugoslavia. The bank went bankrupt in 2002 after controversial decision of the goverment.
