Episode # 5801 THE NEAR UNKNOWN Original airdate: 10-05-58 In this episode Loretta Young plays duel roles as both Peggy Simms and her look-alike, Miss Connally. Peggy finds herself trapped between the law and a gang of vengeful hoodlums. The law wants her as the important missing witness at a criminal trial, and the hoodlums need her to stay missing because they fear her testimony will doom them. Peggy discovers there is the possibility of escape when she sees the face of a young stranger, Miss Connally. Peggy works out an elaborate plan of deception, but has not foreseen the reaction of her own conscience. The cast includes Mark Dana, an actor best known for his appearances in Men Into Space (1959), Tarzan Goes to India (1962) and The Desert Song (1953). He died on January 26, 2015 in Santa Barbara, California. Bob Anderson, playing the bartender, was an American actor and television producer most famous for his role as the young George Bailey in It's a Wonderful Life. Anderson's film career as an actor was brief. He appeared in the TV show Spin and Marty, and he made his last film in 1956. He died of cancer at age 75 at his home in Palm Springs, California on June 6, 2008. Trivia fact: Anderson was born in Hollywood into a showbiz family. He was the son of Eugene Randolph Anderson, an assistant director and production manager, and Marie Augusta Fleischer, and his brothers and cousins were editors and production managers in their own right. He was also the nephew, by marriage, of directors William Beaudine and James Flood, both of whom were married to Anderson's mother's sisters.
