VR Console Robot-Assisted Surgery Taurus is a small and lightweight tele-operated robot system It can be equipped with multiple tools and swap them as needed to perform a vast number of tasks. It is generally used for bomb squad tasks. The Taurus at this medical conference was using Intuitive da Vinci instruments. This is possible because the developers of Taurus also developed the da Vinci robot prototypes. You can still see this with their old console. Nowadays, their interface uses VR joystick controls and VR glasses. The simple joystick VR interface, could drastically decrease the cost of the robotic system. Their future products will bring us gesture controlled robotic surgery. Which could be very promising with low-delay internet connections and new VR systems such as Apple Pro Vision.
