Meet three of our host farmers involved in Kerry Social Farming (KSF). Mary Healy, Ballyduff North Kerry is one of our new host farms 2018. Dessy Cronin, Ballinskelligs in operation since 2015 (also features Christy & Mary McDonnell's host farm in Kells, Co. Kerry). George Kelly Beaufort Mid-Kerry, one of our first host farmers in operation since 2013. This video shows how KSF supports people with a variety of different needs and the hands on collaboration that makes this happen ie the cooperation between KSF facilitator (post funded by DAFM), farmer, participants and their families, and the collaborative support of our partner service providers frontline staff ( this video features farms that are linked with collaborative support from Kerry Parents & Friends Association and St John of God Kerry Services (SJOG)). Kerry Social Farming (KSF) enables people with disabilities (participants) in rural communities avail of social farming opportunities in local ordinary farms around County Kerry. With KSF, the host farmers offer their time on a voluntary basis to support participants engage with activities on the farm. The farm remains a working farm and the farmer is fully support with hands on support and financial support to fund any farm improvements required for benefit of the participant (especially regarding health & safety improvements).
