Full game longplay of Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix, a sequel to the first SOF, the OG Xbox version of the game developed by Gratuitous Games, released in the summer of 2003, a year after the release of the PC version. Played live on stream, but recorded simultaneously, so there is no microphone in the audio, and the whole audio has been normalized via "Netflix" profile to make the cutscenes and the games overall much more audible and louder. Game was recorded during the same time I was streaming on my twitch: Twitch.tv/Ermacgerd. The theme of the Double Helix is germ warfare, as the mercenary Mullins and his new partner Madeline Taylor travel to Colombia to investigate a viral outbreak in a small town, only to link it to a shadowy organization called Prometheus. The virus, called Romulus, is followed by a computer virus called Remus which is programmed to delete files on any computer in the world, in this case, files relating to Prometheus and Romulus, so an anti-virus cannot be formulated. Prometheus then plans to blackmail the G8 countries at a summit in Switzerland for billions of dollars. It is revealed throughout the course of the game that a mole inside The Shop may be feeding information to the terrorists. Review of the Xbox port: It's bad, real bad. The PC version was pretty okay overall, but the Xbox port is a travesty. It looks like a straight up Dreamcast port, if I didn't know better that it was my Xbox running it. Very bland, simplistic graphics, performance very unstable and varied. Controls are pretty mediocre, there is a sense of an input lag. Also, the game never did present how to prone, or that you EVEN can go prone at all. Which made me almost rage quit at like 80% of the game. :D I repeat, this Xbox port is NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL, play the PC version if you can get it, AVOID the Xbox version. I'd rate the Xbox port 3-4/10, the game overall 6-7/10 if not for the crappy port. #longplay #fps #shooter #xbox #xbox360 #retro
