1. Presto, C# Minor (0:00) 2. Allegro Maestoso, F Major (0:57) 3. Tranquillo con Amore, B Major (2:23) 4. March, F Minor (4:41) 5. Finale, D Major (6:44) The first song is a fast, flowing movement with no inherent melody. The main theme is just a chord progression and it is in A B A form. Overall, a very short, quick, and quite contemporary piece. The second song is also contemporary but is in a much different style. In one of my favorite keys, F Major, the song is described by my peers as "patriotic", like the national anthem. There are two themes at play, the main melody and a four note figure, which are eventually put together in the end. The third song is one of my favorites. It has a bass line like a waltz but has a gorgeous, almost nostalgic like melody. In another one of my favorite keys, B Major, the song has the form of A A' A'' B A A'. As one can tell, the form is rather free. I've gotten into the habit of disregarding form in my music. The fourth song is a dramatic march in F Minor. It has the form of A A' B A A'. Once again, not much form, but this movement is definitely one of the most difficult piano works I've written to date. The last movement is quick and swift, a finale in the key of D Major. It is a powerful ending.
