We're testing the brand new UOAF "Israel 1980s" campaign in a casual pickup flight. Fritz (#1), Lukrop (#3), Kermit (#4), and I (#2) want to take out an SA-2 site in the Syrian desert. As this is the beginning of the campaign the air picture is vast, and we quickly get into trouble. Being limited to dumb bombs, early-generation Mavericks, and heat-seeking missiles; and the lack of convenient modern avionics like IDM, IFF, and TGP poses quite a challenge for us. Basically, if you lose visual you lose. This was a very short flight, but an extremely entertaining one!
