If you haven't already please Like this video, and Subscribe to the channel! When you do a simple search of places to go offroading in New England one of the first things that comes up is MaBell aka Jeep Eater trail in western Mass. Its a legal trail and its history is kind of conflicting but from all accounts it was once a telephone pole rideaway (whatever that means) that was about a half mile long (to the top of the hill) that is now maintained by the town of Northampton, and the Friends of Sylvester Road.Over the years the obstacles have gotten more and more washed out making the trail more and more challenging. We had read about this trail numerous times, seen other videos on it and made it to the illustrious list of roads we want to conquer. As of February most of NH is snowed in and like I point out in the video, its now the sleds turn to use the Class VI road system in New Hampshire. Being that were always ready to party, and that there was no snow in MA we decided now might be a good time (before mud season) to get a couple days in and when there were no trails left to do in NH (due to weather) we were saved by the bell (hence the name of the video) Lastly I want to say how much we enjoyed this trail and that while it did end up being easier than i anticipated its still most definitely not a beginner friendly trail. I also want to stress how important it is to keep places like this open by being respectful. When in someone elses town don't be a shit head and mess up the trails and ruin it for everybody.
