Roughed Up by Lake Michigan - A humbling windsurfing experience 1080P

I'm more of a lightwind/freeride/freerace kind of rider and when on the rare occasion nice swell and waves show up with 25 to 35 knots of wind, things become a bit more challenging. Suddenly, everything I was taking for granted is back on the table and new skillsets have to be learned. Some will say that my kit is not meant to ride in these conditions. Maybe, but I feel more "in control" riding with outboard straps than on a FSW board anyway. What didn't help during this session, is that I was somewhat constantly overpowered with too big a sail for the conditions. Being able to stay in control with the right size rig would do a lot to make the experience even more fun! For some, the conditions would be considered "Mild". But again, the wide-angle GoPro view doesn't do justice to the size of the swell at times and how chaotic the surface of the water was. Riding fast in these conditions is hard, scary, and humbling.
