Qur’anic Duʿās during the Month of Ramadan | ADAMS Center 📖 سُورَةُ الأحقاف Surah Al-Aḥqāf (46:15) رَبِّ أَوْزِعْنِىٓ أَنْ أَشْكُرَ نِعْمَتَكَ ٱلَّتِىٓ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَىَّ وَعَلَىٰ وَٰلِدَىَّ وَأَنْ أَعْمَلَ صَـٰلِحًۭا تَرْضَىٰهُ وَأَصْلِحْ لِى فِى ذُرِّيَّتِىٓ ۖ إِنِّى تُبْتُ إِلَيْكَ وَإِنِّى مِنَ ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ “My Lord! Inspire me to always be grateful for Your blessings upon me and my parents, guide me to do righteous deeds that please You, and make my offspring righteous. Indeed, I turn to You in repentance, and I am truly among those who submit.” ✨ Reflection: This duʿā beautifully combines gratitude (shukr), righteous action (‘amal ṣāliḥ), and concern for future generations (dhurriyyah). It reminds us that true success is not just personal—but extends to our parents and our children. This duʿāʾ reminds us that our relationship with Allah begins with gratitude. Not just recognizing blessings, but being enabled by Allah to truly appreciate them. Even gratitude itself is a gift. Then it moves to action—not just any action, but righteous deeds that Allah is pleased with. Because not every good deed is accepted; what matters is sincerity and alignment with what pleases Him. And then, it expands beyond ourselves to our families and future generations. A believer doesn’t just think about their own success, but asks Allah to bring righteousness into their children and legacy. Finally, the duʿāʾ ends with tawbah and submission—“I turn back to You, and I am among those who submit.” As if to say: no matter what we do, we always return to Allah, seeking His acceptance. In Ramadan, this duʿāʾ teaches us a complete roadmap: Be grateful. Do what pleases Allah. Care about your legacy. And always return to Him. 🔍 Key Terms: أَوْزِعْنِي (awzi‘nī): Inspire and enable me أَشْكُرَ (ashkur): To be grateful أَصْلِحْ (aṣliḥ): Reform and make righteous May Allah make us among those who are grateful, righteous, and a source of goodness for generations to come.
