Skies of Arcadia may well be the first JRPG I ever finished and is one of my most beleved Dreamcast games. I sunk many hours into the game in the summer of 2002 when I played the Echelon relseased EU version. I downloaded it from the eDonkey network over my cable internet with 1MBit/s which was the future for me back then. I really enjoyed the characters, especially Aika. She reminded me a lot of Astrid Lindgren's character Pippi Longstockings and was so much fun to have around. The varied environments and interesting story really pulled me in. I think the art direction in this game aged pretty well with a polished DirectX 6-ish look to it. Also, as proven by the intro and menu screen in this video the music in this game is just perfect - well composed and touching melodies which stay with you for a long time.
