Displays of the Norwegian Air Force Historical Squadron de Havilland Vampire FB.52 & BAC Strikemaster Pair on Friday of the 2025 Clacton Airshow. There was a substantial lineup of historic aircraft at Clacton last year, chief among which was the Vampire of the Norwegian Historical Squadron, based at Rygge Air Station, along with the Strikemaster Pair based at North Weald in Essex. The Vampire FB.52 (LN-DHY) is the export variant of the FB.6 is one of two operated by the Norwegian Historical Squadron, the other being a T.55 (LN-DHZ), which itself is an export variant of the Vampire T.11 and was originally delivered to the Swiss Air Force. Both are regular performers in the British airshow circuit, they have also visited RIAT and Duxford in the past. The Strikemaster Pair, based out of North Weald Airfield, fly an ex Saudi Mk.82A (G-RSAF) and ex Omani Mk.80A (G-SOAF). They fly a dynamic routine, consisting of tight formation flying and fast cross-overs, they also fly with a smoke system, which definitely increases crowd-appeal. The BAC Strikemaster is derived from the BAC Jet Provost, the beloved lightweight trainer which has been used by many aerobatic teams in the past.
