MATI Concert: Meet the Composer - Bohdana Frolyak

Recorded during live performance at the Music at the Institute (MATI) Concert Series at the Ukrainian Institute of America on November 7, 2025. Music at the Institute was pleased to present a concert celebrating acclaimed Ukrainian composer Bohdana Frolyak. A distinguished ensemble — including musicians from the NY Phil, the Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra, and faculty from Yale, Juilliard, and Oberlin — performed Frolyak’s evocative chamber music. This MATI concert coincided with the New York Philharmonic’s performances honoring the Ukrainian people, with Dalia Stasevska leading a program featuring Frolyak’s Let There Be Light, reflecting on war-torn Ukraine, and Joshua Bell performing Ukrainian-born Thomas de Hartmann’s violin concerto.
