Abstract The BGP routing enviroment proivides a unique insight into the behaviour of the public Internet. BGP data relates to the size of memory needed to store the routing tables oin routers that operate in the Default-Free Zone, and its rates of growth ands stability can provide useful insights into the dynamics of network growth, in both IPv4 and IPv6. The dynamics of network convergence can also tell us how the BGP routing infrastructure is coping with scaling pressures. In this presentation we will dive ito metrics of BGP, comparing the data over the past two decades to the data relating to 2025.
