Martin Campos, Painting the Human Trace

Martin Campos grew up out west. He is part Spanish, Ecquadorian, Mexican, and Mescalero Apache. As an art student at New Mexico State University, He felt like an odd man out there because of his interest in the Old Masters. 15 years later he had become a serious student of art history at the University of New Mexico. He came east to tour grad schools and ended up visiting the Pennsylvania Academy. The Academy unleashed the artist within him. His amazing paintings combine realism and abstraction; his obsession is to capture the human trace.
