Fishing at Lake Minnetonka Halstead's Bay in Minnetrista Minnesota 6.6.20

First time fishing at Halstead's Bay of Lake Minnetonka! I got on at a fishing dock located at Kings Point. There is no boat landing so natural there were no people! The fishing dock had maybe 6-8 parking spots including a handicap spot. I launched my kayak at the shallow swampy area directly in front of the parking lot. There were tons of carp flopping around in the water! As I make my way through the weeds I found that fishing from the dock would be next to impossible due to all the weeds. The water depth was around 5-7 feet. I kept it simple and fished a few boat docks directly left of the fishing dock with some pan fish lures. The water was about 5-7 feet deep in front of the docks. Every cast was almost a crappie, with a few gills and sunnies. I caught a smaller large mouth bass also. I didn't have time to explore the whole bay area but I did get to paddle around the area in front of the fishing dock. The water gets to about 17 feet deep and then gradual gets up to that 5-7 fow near the boat docks and weed lines. This is an interesting area to fish and I look forward to getting out to see if I can land the infamous Minnesota Muskie!
