Making A Cloth Bag

This video shows how to make a bag out of three squares of cloth, a needle, and some cotton thread. I based this design on the Japanese azuma bukuro ( https://kokka-fabric.com/en/craft-sew... ). The wonderful thing about that design, as opposed to more familiar tote bags, is that by using the fabric on the bias (which is the sewing word for "oriented diagonally") the bag becomes stretchier and less rigid. Choice of thread here is basically decorative; any thread will do (but before using old cotton thread, give it a tug and see if it breaks; it loses strength over time). The thread I'm using here is Coron cotton sashiko thread. If you wanted to hide the stitches you could use a thinner thread--I like Gutermann's cotton and polyester threads for strength and low-profile-ness.
