Snorkelling Trigg Beach, Perth Western Australia

Easterly winds were blowing at Trigg Beach (17/1/2021) making it perfect conditions for snorkelling. I like Trigg Beach for snorkelling because it’s accessible (just a short walk from the carpark) It’s got lots of shallow reef and is protected by the outer reef It’s typical to see lots of Herring and Tailor around the reef and Whiting in the sandy patches On this occasion we also spotted an eel. It was nice snorkelling around the exposed rock and getting up close to the birds here. There was also lots of underwater life under the hanging rock and a nice contrast of shadows and sunlight from the rock. There was no swell making snorkelling an absolute breeze. This is a good spot when conditions are good, you won’t be disappointed. After our snorkel we took the short walk up to Canteen for some fish tacos and a drink.
