On Sunday 14th December 2014, Engineering work was taking place between keymer junction and plumpton - cooksbridge. As a result, mainline East Coastway services from Eastbourne and Ore to London Victoria were diverted via Brighton instead of via plumpton. This therefore resulted in diversions. We see some of the diverted servises in this video, passing northbound at XX.46 and Southbound at XX.49 past the hour at Haywards Heath. In this video, we see 3 EWS Class 66s, now operated by DBSchenker. Appologies for the hand in the shot on the 3rd freight, was trying to keep the camera dry as it was raining (this could have got wet and blurred the shot otherwise). If you are deciding to go to Haywards Heath, for some shopping or just train spotting, I recommend it. It is a 4 platform interchange station with down and up sidings which see occasional regular freight services from Ardingly where the locomotive will stop in (usually) platform 1 and run around its train. In terms of shopping at Haywards Heath, there are a good few shops to keep you entertained for a couple of hours, 20 minutes walk from the station. A Railgrinder is seen in the Up Sidings of Haywards Heath. Thanks for watching. If you have any questions, please comment below and I will reply within 24 hours!
