Today we ride at Putrajaya Challenge Park (PCP) — one of the most popular MTB bike parks in Malaysia — and we brought along the DJI Neo 2 to test its Cycling Follow Mode in real mountain biking conditions. We’re riding the Marin San Quentin 2, and this video shows how the drone performed while following the bike in different sections of the park. We tested in three riding environments: 1️⃣ Open Area – smooth tracking, works really well 2️⃣ Jump Track (Open space) – solid performance + fun results 3️⃣ Inside the MTB Trail – tight corners, trees, branches and lots of drone confusion 😅 In open sections, the drone follows confidently at a good distance. Inside the trail, obstacles cause hesitation, stopping, weird behaviour and even some crashes. Slower, controlled riding helps, especially around corners and berms — but on fast downhill trails like Trail 16, the drone struggles to keep up. Still, we’re impressed with how capable it is in open areas, and we’re excited to explore more settings or future FPV-style modes for true high-speed MTB follow-cam shots. More tests coming soon — stay tuned!
