Who says you need a $2000 MTB? My cheap $300 Chinesium MTB takes me everywhere! Even to the super long..... LEO LANDS TRAIL OF MT COTTON. 4.5 kms which runs for 24 minutes - it's a fantastic trail!! This video is a full run through of this trail if you're thinking about riding it. This online el-cheapo 'FACTORY' brand hardtail 29er MTB was delivered right inside my front door. The question is.... how long will it last??? So far, it's been 15 months of this kind of riding. I fully understand this isn't any $2000-$3000 bike (actually maybe I don't understand), but my point was to get the cheapest 29er I could find, and see how long I can hit rough trails here at my local areas for (and for riding to and from work sometimes). Finally after abusing it for 15 months, and riding about 2000 kms on it, two spokes on the rear wheel just broke the other day which I quickly fixed. And I just ordered some cheap brake pads too, as mine are a bit squeaky now and need replacing. Finally, the tread on the rear tyre is starting to look a bit thin.
