#breach #canal #canalbreach Llangollen Breach Latest Update Friday, the 6th of March Wow, what a difference a day makes! 19 degrees yesterday and pure sunshine, now 7 degrees and cloudy and drizzly! Nonetheless, I still got the drone up to do another update of the goings on, here at the Llangollen canal breach. I was here a couple of days ago, on Tuesday, when it was planned that the fish might be saved, which remained in the lake; unfortunately, that didn't happen. It was projected that it might happen today, at the very earliest. But that doesn't look to be the case, as a workman walked into one of the lakes and it went up to his waist! Which would make it 2.5 - 3 feet. It needs to come down a little more first, so hopefully it'll be Monday. In other news, you may have already heard that the big oak tree in the way of the breach repairs is the biggest one there! Has been felled! It really is a tragedy that this had to happen to a tree that had likely been in place since the embankment, but without removing this tree, repairs would not be possible. How's the road coming on, though? Very well in fact. They've spent most of the last couple of days making a turning point for the HGVs, that's if that is what this is. We're not entirely sure yet. so not much progress has been made on extending the road towards the breach. The aggregate is only delivered between 0:930 and 15:30 to avoid the rush hours, and 10 wagons full are being delivered today to continue the laying of the track. Hello and welcome to Taylors Aboard.
