After a disastrous date with his girlfriend Trine, Jeppe finally admits to his family what they already knew and fully accepted – that he is gay. Jeppe is her youngest child, who is still coming to terms with his sexuality. He has two older siblings - brother Ricco and sister Molly. The series premiered in February 2012 and has run for three seasons. It is set in one of the central-western suburbs of Copenhagen. A Dutch remake called Tessa was made and aired in November 2015. It followed the storyline of Rita Season one, with only few changes. A second season has not been commissioned. A US remake was planned and a pilot episode was filmed in 2013, but it was not picked up as a series. .
