Acronyms that might be used in this video: FCU - Flight Control Unit FMS - Flight Management System MCDU - Multipurpose Control and Display Unit ND - Navigation Display PF - Pilot flying PM - Pilot Monitoring PFD - Primary Flight Display SAW - Situational Awareness WLM - Work Load Management Trivia: Navigation databases can be as small as 20Mb or less! In fact, early on in the model's history, the database was reported to be as small as 1-4Mb! Databases are updated every 28 days so that the latest navigation aids and waypoint information is up to date. If the database is not up to date, it can often still be used by referring to the MEL (minimum equipment list). There isn’t just one software provider; both Thales and Honeywell have provided various FMS revisions over the years. Note: Errors and inaccuracies can occasionally be introduced during filming, and procedures evolve over time. If you notice anything that may need updating or correcting, feel free to point it out in the comments. They would be gratefully received!
