It became the capital of the Ashanti region following its victory over Denkyira during Otumfuo Osei Tutu’s rule. The Central Business District of Kumasi includes areas such as Adum, Bantama, Kejetia etc. It’s also known as the ‘Garden City" because of its many species of flowers and plants in the past. It’s known for its rich culture and is home to one of the best Universities in Ghana, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. You can Also find the Manhyia palace here, as well as a number of locations for pottery, Kente and basket weaving. Kumasi is also home to Baba Yara Sports Stadium , which is the largest stadium in Ghana with a seating capacity of 40,428. There are also some beautiful absolutely beautiful neighbourhoods to live in within Kumasi.
