Online regional media briefing for the thirteenth session of the World Urban Forum - Arab States

As preparations advance for the thirteenth session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), scheduled to take place in Baku, Azerbaijan, UN-Habitat is initiating a structured series of virtual press briefings to promote early media engagement, strengthen global visibility, and ensure coherent messaging across regions. Egypt remains a central reference point in the WUF narrative, having successfully hosted WUF12 – the first World Urban Forum held in the Arab region. The visibility generated, along with the strong national and regional media relationships cultivated through WUF12, positions Egypt uniquely to support the launch of the WUF13 communications cycle. Simultaneously, the Arab States region continues to play an influential role in global urban development dialogues, with the Regional Office for Arab States (ROAS) providing strategic outreach to regional media, UN counterparts, and government partners. The virtual briefing will serve as the strategic launch point for the WUF13 media engagement series, reinforcing UN-Habitat’s commitment to inclusive, transparent, and globally/regionally coordinated communication.
