Marantz PM53 Amplifier Repair

Fault Amplifier in protection mode, speaker protection relay not changing over. Very common issue due to dry soldered connections on the Audio Output Transistors and voltage Amplifier Transistors all mounted on the large heat sink. Rear metal back panel removed and all dry soldered connections re-flowed, particular attention should also be shown to the speaker terminal soldered connections and the RCA input sockets. The speaker protection relay was also replaced 24 VDC DP/CO due to the age of the Amplifier. User controls cleaned with Servisol Super 10 switch cleaner. Amplifier fully tested working correctly. Note: Ensure the back panel and the main Amplifier board are screwed back in place as well as the speaker terminal fixing screws before applying power to the Amplifier. The common ground connection must be made otherwise the Amplifier output stages will be damaged.
