This presentation by Coach John Davis explains a method for predicting and achieving business goals by working backward from desired results to daily actions. He emphasizes the importance of tracking leading activities (actions) to ensure you're on pace to achieve lagging results (outcomes). The Process: Target Results (Lagging Indicators): Start with your ultimate goal. In the example, the goal is $1.2 million in revenue. Outputs (Lagging Indicators): Determine the outputs needed to achieve the target results. In this case, 200 customers are needed to generate $1.2 million in revenue. Quotes (Leading Indicators): Calculate the number of quotes required to acquire the necessary customers. If the business wins one-third of its quotes, they need to generate 600 quotes (3 x 200). Connections (Leading Indicators): Determine the number of connections needed to generate the required quotes. If the ratio of connections to quotes is 5:1, they need to make 3,000 connections (5 x 600). Marketing Actions (Leading Indicators): Calculate the number of marketing actions needed to create the required connections. If the ratio of marketing actions to connections is 10:1, they need to take 30,000 marketing actions (10 x 3,000). Break Down the Numbers: Divide the annual targets into monthly, weekly, and daily targets. This makes the large numbers seem less daunting and allows for regular progress tracking. Daily Measurement: Track your daily actions (marketing actions, connections, quotes, customers, and revenue). Compare your actual performance against the daily targets to see if you are ahead or behind pace. Adjustments: If you find you are consistently falling short of your daily or weekly targets, analyze why and make adjustments to your actions or your ratios. This is how you "predict your future" – by monitoring leading indicators and adjusting course as needed. Coach John works through an example. Key Takeaway: By working backward from your revenue goal and tracking your daily actions, you can gain valuable insights into your progress and make adjustments to stay on track. This data-driven approach allows you to "predict your future" by controlling your present actions. Coach John Davis offers assistance in setting up this tracking system. He encourages viewers to contact him if they have questions or need help implementing this process in their business. Subscribe for more videos.
