Amending You Old Soil!

In this video, I’m transplanting my cannabis plants into 15-gallon pots using a cost-saving soil blend. Instead of buying all new soil, I’m reusing soil from an old raised bed and mixing in about 30% coco coir for better aeration and water retention. While this mix isn’t true “living soil” yet, I’m enriching it with Bio-Live all-purpose fertilizer, bone meal, and other amendments to help bring it back to life. Bio-Live adds beneficial bacteria that inoculate and revitalize the soil, giving the plants a healthier foundation. After a thorough mix, I start filling the pots in layers—compost, mycorrhizae, humic acid, and greensand—before transplanting the plants. With just four bags of new soil on hand, this method helps stretch my resources while still creating a nutrient-rich environment for strong growth.
