이스라엘 텔아비브에 공습경보… 하마스 "로켓 일제 발사" 이스라엘서 전쟁 1년 추모 Today, October 7th, marks the one-year anniversary of Hamas' unprecedented attack on Israel. On this day, Hamas launched rockets towards Tel Aviv while memorials were held in Israel to remember the victims of the attack. Choi Min-jung brings the latest. Rockets fired from Gaza set off sirens in Tel Aviv on Monday, as Israel marked the one-year anniversary of the Hamas October seventh attack. The Israeli military said Hamas fired rockets at central Israel from the Gaza Strip. The Jerusalem Post reported that a few people had been lightly wounded. The attack was anticipated as the Israeli military had the day before warned that Hamas would likely carry out an attack on the anniversary of the massacre. Earlier, at dawn, hundreds of family and friends of the victims gathered at the site of the Nova Music Festival a year ago to honor those killed. The last song that had played during Hamas' surprise attack, was played once again. People lit candles and cried helplessly thinking of their loved ones. The commemoration was joined by Israeli President Isaac Herzog, who said the October seventh attack has "left a scar on humanity." Last year, on October seventh, the festival turned into a bloodbath after Hamas gunmen killed more than 3-hundred-70 people. Many others were taken hostage, with dozens still in captivity. "We lost our son here. He was at the party. We came to visit him after one year passed, which is amazing. We don't we don't know, it seems to be like yesterday was the last day we saw him." Israelis also took to the streets, demanding the return of the hostages. "We came here this morning, 365 days since October 7, 2023, because this is the place, the hostages square, the place to be and pray to bring back all the 101 people that are still in hostage in Gaza." The war has also sparked worldwide protests, prompting tens of thousands of people to take to the streets to call for an end to bloodshed in Gaza and the Middle East as a whole.
