The Protection of Personal Information Act commenced on 1 July 2020 and the one year grace period to comply, ended on 30 June 2021. What seemed to many to have been little more than a bump in the road on the journey to compliance with a multitude of general compliance requirements, has, however, evolved into a complex body of law.
