Master technician and television host Lou Santiago installs a Strutmasters rear air suspension conversion kit on a Jaguar XJ8. This video covers 2004 to 2010 model years of the Jaguar XJ8 vehicles equipped with a factory air suspension system. Important: There may have been updates to the installation process since this video was made. Please FOLLOW THE PAPER INSTRUCTIONS that come with your Strutmasters product for the most up to date procedure. This vehicle requires converting all four wheels at once; just the rear install is shown in this particular video. Hundreds of vehicles have shown up at the Strutmasters headquarters in North Carolina because their owner was fed up with working on the factory suspension system. Luckily, car builder and celebrity mechanic Lou Santiago was here to help this XJ8 owner convert the factory suspension and enjoy their vehicle for many more years. We hear from dozens of Jaguar owners a month in our call center. As our suspension experts explain, with an older, high-mileage vehicle, your choices may be limited: 1) You Can Do Nothing -- Some vehicles, like the one in this video, are IMPOSSIBLE to drive when the computerized factory suspension goes bad. And if you DO keep driving the vehicle, it is DANGEROUS. Some suspension failures end very badly, even causing an accident. Lou says, FIX THE VEHICLE as soon as possible. 2) Fix It At The Dealer -- Perfect solution IF you are willing to spend potentially MORE than the vehicle is worth just to fix the factory suspension. Most customers don't have the money. The ones that do are too smart to sink five grand or more into just ONE repair on an older vehicle. Lou says, PASS ON SPENDING BIG BUCKS. 3) Trade It or Sell It -- Good luck with getting a fair price for an almost undriveable vehicle. Do you really want to get rock bottom value for a vehicle you loved and had so much invested in prior to the suspension failure? And can you take on ANOTHER luxury vehicle payment that can easily land in the $500 to $800 a month range for years to come? Plus your insurance will go way up. Lou says, DON'T GIVE AWAY A GOOD CAR! 4) Throw Parts At It -- The sooner you understand that NOT JUST ONE part is broken, but an entire system is going bad, the better. We have had thousands of customers go the route of replacement parts and regret it. Our video library is filled with customer vehicles that had hundreds, even thousands spent on them before a conversion kit was installed. ALL of these active factory suspensions are complicated and do you really want to work on the same issue over and over? A bunch of cheap parts still adds up to a huge investment. Lou says, DON'T GET ON THE PARTS MERRY GO ROUND! 5) Convert The Suspension With Strutmasters: A simple concept that works. We replace the complicated stuff with passive struts, shocks and coil springs that work great. We have helped tens of thousands of customers hang onto their vehicles for several more years with the least possible investment in the long run. Lou says, NOW YOU TALKING! Strutmasters offers both a complete four-wheel suspension conversion kit for your Jaguar vehicle. The Jaguar product and the majority of our kits come fully assembled and ALL of them offer detailed instructions so you can install it yourself or speed up the process for a professional mechanic. Lou says: Don't learn the hard way like so many others! Fix It Once, Fix It Right with the original -- Strutmasters! We recommend you obtain the full vehicle ID number (VIN) and call our team at 866-597-2397 BEFORE you order. They will make sure you get the correct application for your specific vehicle. And be sure to say Hi to Lou when you call... he loves that!
