Review: RMILEC UHF long range RC system (part 1)

If you fly RC planes by FPV then the use of a UHF RC system to obtain greater range is an option many will consider and this review looks at the RMILEC system. Here are the pro's and con's observed in part 1 of this review: Pro's: easy to set up (binding, module installation etc) build quality (excluding the TX antenna) is good reasonably priced Con's: transmitter antenna is poorly designed and built no output filtering means it is very "noisy" on 2nd, 3rd and even 4th harmonic frequencies which could well cause problems with video links on 1.2/1.3GHz transmitter module runs very very hot which could cause premature failure no obvious method for updating firmware the use of only 3 frequencies From a technical perspective, this system has some significant issues but I will reserve my final judgement until after the flight tests.
