So this is a test I wanted to do a while ago BUT did not take the time to do and the I thought I would video it to better show the methods used to catch and compare data . First up is the 400 watt HPS Custom Fixture with a digital driver . The fixture pulls 440 watts& 3.651 amps at 121v A/C current. Kelvin scale color metered at 2270. Second is a set of 120 degree flood Viugreum Warm White Led's being a 250 watt and a 200 watt fixtures side by side. These two fixtures together meter the same 440 watts and has 3.804 amps with 121v A/C current.Kelvin color scale meters at 1977 . The third is fixture tested is a total of 10 50watt Viugreum LED Warm White 60 Degree fixtures to meter 425 watts and has 3.541 amps with a 121v A/C current. There are two test for this fixture one is standard lenses / no amber filter films or amber lenses. The second is with amber lenses .So verything is the same in the power specs but the Kelvin is just meters over 1900 Kelvin color temp. So far I have found that the lens cuts down on the LUX meter numbers the most when compare to films. If your light are very close to the water flood lights are going to be the safe bet. If your light are 24" or higher out of the water the 60 Degree fixtures are going to be a worth while consideration. Please share your knowledge and help others learn from what you have experienced so that we all might have a little better experience out on your next trip on the water. I do post some pics and test reports on Bowfishing Boat Builders Facebook page.
